Our Story

Holistic Veterinary Care

IMG_1615.jpg

My calling is to help patients truly heal. I have felt a void while practicing veterinary medicine for more than 15 years. Something was missing. I would see patients come in for the same problem over and over. I would run all kinds of tests without providing a definite diagnosis. I felt that I was providing a band-aid treatment without getting to the root of the problem.

I realized my medical philosophy was stuck in a rigid box. Mathematical, scientific approach to medicine does not always work because our body is not a machine. Our body is a living, breathing creation with a soul. I needed to look at the whole picture and not get stuck in trying to fit a few pieces of the puzzle.

Holistic veterinary care looks at every facet of the body: stress, diet, genetics, temperament, environment, immunity, past medical history, practicality of treatment, and so on.

I was astonished at the results of acupuncture. Our body has an amazing ability to heal. Increasing blood flow to organs and stimulating nerves promote natural healing. Acupuncture is like unlocking the secret code that was implanted in our body.

I was fascinated by the concept of herbal medicine. It is common for patients to have multiple disease processes. Instead of prescribing different medications to address each problem, we can use an herbal formula to address many different problems at the same time. This is possible because a plant is a complex organism carrying many medicinal compounds. Nature is equipped with the best medicine for us.

When it comes to getting to the root of the problem, food is the answer. The ultimate medicine is food. Decreasing exposure to preservatives and chemicals in highly processed food and feeding fresh food can lead the body to ultimate recovery.

Studying nature and body will continue to provide ways for us to heal. As we work together to help our pets heal, we will discover the true meaning of love and empathy.

Many people love their pets, but they don't know how to take care of their pets. It is heartbreaking to see pets at a veterinary hospital at the end stage of the disease, which could have been prevented with proper care.

Instead of looking for a quick fix when your pet gets sick, start looking at the WHOLE PICTURE of your pet. Has your pet been on highly processed food and treats? Is the pet chronically stressed? Is your pet exposed to secondhand smoke? Unless the underlying reason for the disease is addressed, our pets will continue to get worse. Medications will give some relief initially, but we need to get to the root of the problem. Natural food, exercise, and pain management are important steps to keep your pets healthy.

Pets give us so much joy and unconditional love. They deserve better. They depend on you. Be the best pet parent you can be.

The more you know,

the better you can take care of your pets.
